BIO

I was born in Milan, where I grew up surrounded by music, my mother being a piano teacher at the local conservatory. The first instrument I played was the violin, which I practiced for six years, but growing up I found myself more insterested in the guitar and electric bass.

During highschool, having to repair my bass guitar, I discovered the profession of the luthier, which fascinated me so much so that, after my graduation from school, I decided to begin the lutherie school in Milan. During the four years of lutherie school, I began to study, learn and practice the various historical and building aspects of many plucked instruments, under the guidance of teachers such as Roberto de Miranda, Silvia Zanchi, Ivan Bruna and Bob van de Kerckhove. In the third year of school my love for early mandolins was born, thanks to the decision to make a copy of a six course mandolin by Giuseppe Presbler. From that moment, thanks also to the encounter and collaboration with Maestro Federico Gabrielli, I went on to dedicate a lot of my work to these instruments, with always increasing passion.

After the graduation from lutherie school, I also began to work for Maestro Lorenzo Lippi, thanks to whom I deepened my knowledge and skills in building Embergher mandolins, bresciano mandolins, and neapolitan baroque mandolins.

Since the lutherie school years I also always kept on working on my own instruments, building and restoring mainly guitars, lutes and mandolins
